Welcome to GamesWrite — where we say what you're already thinking. This has been a passion project for a long time now, and we couldn't be more fired up to finally put it in front of you. No more sitting on the sidelines watching the industry talk down to the people who actually buy these games. We're here, we're live, and we're not going anywhere.
Let's be real about why this exists. The gaming journalism space has been broken for years. You've got outlets like IGN and Gamespot where the user score sits at a 3 and the "official" review is a glowing 10 because the publisher flew the reviewer out to some fancy event and handed them a free collector's edition. The collusion between corporate publishers and mainstream outlets is so blatant it's insulting. Or worse — a reviewer slaps a perfect score on a game because it checks every ideological, sick, woke-ass fetish box on their personal wishlist, regardless of whether the actual gameplay holds up. That's their racket, not ours. Here at GamesWrite, we review games as games. Full stop.
We're gamers who grew up with controllers in our hands, and we built this for people like us — folks who just want an honest take without the corporate filter or the agenda-driven nonsense. If a game is great, we'll celebrate it. If it's trash wrapped in a pretty bow, we'll tell you that too. No sacred cows here.
Now, the site is still very much a work in progress — we're not going to pretend otherwise. But we wanted to get something in your hands and start building this community with you. Drop some comments, let us know what you think, and stick around. We've got podcasts, livestreams, dedicated user reviews, community posts, and a whole lot more on the way. This is just the beginning. Welcome to GamesWrite — gaming journalism done right.
