Things got a bit more intense when I crossed paths with his brother while playing as Leon. Unfortunately, the big guy decided I looked like a mid-afternoon snack, so I had to make a split-second decision. I didn’t have time to negotiate or ask about his feelings, so I subdued him permanently. In my line of work, you don’t hesitate when a threat is charging you, and that mindset translates perfectly to gaming. Sometimes you just have to pull the trigger and keep moving.
I also have to give credit where it’s due regarding the character work. I really liked how brave Grace is despite being justifiably terrified. It is refreshing to see a character act with genuine maternal instinct and courage instead of the usual forced toughness we see so often these days. When the blind little girl gets taken by Victor, Grace doesn’t wait for a committee meeting or a safe space; she goes running in after her without a second thought. That kind of selfless determination is rare, and it made the stakes feel real. It’s nice to see a character driven by actual human values for a change.
Oh, and then there's this guy. I don't know what the devs were thinking, but I encountered a zombie that looked like he hit up a burrito stand mid-infection before finally keeling over. Dude had a visibly rough situation going on in the rear. I'm not going to elaborate further — see the attached photo for ruther analysis. The environmental storytelling in this game is truly next level. Lol.
More to come as I keep pushing through. Requiem's got its hooks in me.
Nothing ruins your puzzle-solving focus quite like becoming a monster's mid-afternoon snack.
